NYC: Breakfast with MK Sharren Haskel

April 21 @ 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

IAC.NYC

Join IAC Dor Chadash for a breakfast with MK Sharren Haskel.

MK Haskel will speak about her experiences as a relatively young legislator,  what it means to be a liberal within Israel’s right wing, and touch on her work regarding decriminalization and medical use of cannabis in Israel.

Sharren Haskel is a member of The Israeli Parliament who currently serves as the second youngest member of Israel’s 20th government.

MK Haskel was born in Canada and was raised in Israel. After completing her army service, she moved to Australia where she became a veterinarian nurse and animal rights activist.

MK Haskel has recently played a huge role in Israel’s decriminalization of cannabis and is a vocal advocate for medical cannabis use.  Unlike her older counterparts, she is seen by many as the most active and influential MK for civil freedom, individual rights, animal rights, sustainable development, and economic freedom.

MK Haskel is a member of the Kenesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Science and Technology Committee, Special Committee on Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Special Committee for the Transparency and Accessibility of Government Information and Co-Chairs the LGBT Lobby.
